Jade Dragon πŸ‰ - A Lego GBC Module

Greetings everyone,

The video for my Jade Dragon module is up on the YouTube channel.  This module was created using my Workshop 01 module as the base, and then using parts and builds from the 70612 Green Ninja Mech Dragon set.  As well I used a bunch of Sand green parts that I was lucky enough to pick up at the Lego Pick-a-Brick wall over the last few months.

I'm very happy with how this simple module turned out! 🐲

GBC Observer πŸ‘ Week 31, 2018

Week 31, GBC Observer is GO!

Maico has taken a video of a very complex large build module that can write words out using GBC balls. I'm curious what would happen if there were also soccer balls and the "friends" balls running through the scanner?

Spanish Builder "Jolugoma GBC" has meshed one of Maico's modules with my latest workshop module, very cool! I feel like this counts as a collaboration between Maico and myself without us having to do anything!

AnimatronicA has a very smooth looking cup to cup widget here which has some very graceful movement.

And Sawyer is back with a well decorated Classic Castle module, a siege on a castle. I like the decoration and the rapid moving agitator, it sounds really neat.

GBC Observer πŸ‘ Week 30, 2018

Wow week 30 already!  Summer is here, so lets take a look at a few Lego Great Ball Contraption videos that have appeared on YouTube over the last week.

Rohan has built a great looking large module out of of the Hailfire Droid wheels and some Brick Seperators, very nice!

This small layout has a few cool mechanisms and builds I haven't seen before including a gravity powered ball kicker πŸ˜… and 2 wheels that intersect with each other.

Serendibite is back with a giant tipping platform module that is very interesting to watch.

GBP - Workshop Module 01

Today I'm releasing the v1.0 instructions for my simple conveyor which I'm calling:
Great Ball Pit Workshop Module 01

Instructions for "GBPWM01" can be found on the instructions page.

It is built using 194 pieces which includes a Lego Power Functions M Motor.  Alternatively you can rig it up to run with shared power fairly easily (This will be shown in the upcoming video).

Output height is decent so you can rig up a nice ramp or widget to get the balls to the next module.  (I'll be showing a few of these in the video as well)

Some people have asked me why I called it Workshop Module 01.  Well I think it's so small and useful, I would use it as a workshop module.  As well I will be making a few videos showing it, modifying it, and whatever else I can think of.

Note:  This is designed to run at around 50-75% speed when using a PF M Motor, so I would recommend using a 9V Train Controller with this module.  Alternatively you could use the Infrared receiver and the IR Remote to set the speed as well.

The video will be out on the YouTube channel on Tuesday.

Enjoy, and please let me know if you find any issues with the module so I can iterate and update the instructions.

GBC Observer πŸ‘ Week 29, 2018

Hey everyone,

Here are some of the Lego Great Ball Contraptions I've discovered on YouTube over the past week.

Dawid Marasek goes into a bit more detail on his Mindstorms EV3 Pinball GBC in this video.  It's interactive and the public can play while the GBC layout is running, very cool!

I missed this one last week and the concept is interesting, but I'm not sure it meets the GBC standard πŸ€”

And since we are a bit short on content this week, how about another look at Brick Fiesta's loop featuring plenty of 🌞 Solaire and πŸš§πŸ› Roadwork Redux in this video from Serendibite.

Upcoming instructions and videos.

Upslide
Instructions for Upslide have been completed, and I'm currently deciding on how and when I will release them.  The final parts count is 460 Pieces and a Power Functions M Motor.

Next Module
I've also started work on the instructions for what I'm calling "Great Ball Pit Workshop Module 1".  It is simple conveyor that is built with 195 pieces and a Power Function M motor.  It's been tested a fair bit but still needs a bit more run-time for me to comfortably say it's "reliable".

According to Stud.io (Bricklink) the 3 most expensive components are the 1x14 Technic Bricks, the 40t Gear, and the 24 pieces of conveyor.

You will see this module soon in an upcoming video.

Brickworld 2018 GBC workshop module - Grey Glass

Hey everyone,

I've built the latest Brickworld 2018 module and made a few design tweaks to my own liking.

It's a solid module that I would definitely recommend to have in your GBC module collection.  I've modified mine to work with my shared power system of axles and universal joints.

Lets take a look at some great GBC videos that appeared over the last week.

J Douglas is back with a video of the GBC Layout at Bricktastic 2018 which took place in the UK.
Lots of great new modules and mechanisms here!

Here's a new rotary dumper for a train module from Japan.

Here's an interesting layout with an impressive bridge module, and I like the pirate ship!
